Here we will bring you the latest news from the world of law and sports, especially football. One of the biggest stories recently was that of Chelsea FC owner Roman Abramovich. Who will own the club is a big question, up to ten bidders are considering making bids for Chelsea FC; property developer Nick Candy is still pursuing his bid to buy the football club. Some say they ignored the truth about his connections for too long.

The war in Ukraine has been a terrible turn of events, plunging Europe back into war. Roman is one of seven oligarchs in a list, which also includes billionaires Sechin and Deripaska, both seen as allies of Putin. Roman said he was going to sell Chelsea earlier last month and Chelsea FC cannot sell any more tickets for games, its merchandise shop will be closed, and it will be unable to buy or sell players on the transfer market.


Yes things are clearly uncertain for the club, the government said it would issue a special licence that allows fixtures to be fulfilled, staff to be paid and existing ticket holders to attend games. The club are asking the government to ease some of the restrictions imposed on the club to ensure that they can survive.

Chelsea are running the sale process for the club, and it is down to them to agree a sale. The buyer would then have to work with the government, who will examine any potential deals to make sure Abramovich is not benefiting. The sanctions are intended to stop Roman from making any money in the UK - including from the potential sale of Chelsea, with as many as 10 parties understood to be interested in purchasing Chelsea FC. World Cup pitch invader won't face legal action - but will be kicked out of Qatar Welcome back to the Chris Farnell football news blog. Mario Ferri, 35, ran onto the pitch during the Group H game between Portugal and Uruguay at the Lusail Stadium on Monday.  A protester who ran onto the pitch during Portugal's match against Uruguay will not face any further legal action - but is being removed from Qatar. Mario Ferri was seen sprinting onto the grass at the Lusail Stadium in Qatar on Monday waving a rainbow flag and wearing a T-shirt that read "Save Ukraine" on the front and "Respect for Iranian women" on the back.
